Tumblr Things: Describing Emotions with Animated Gifs
On tumblr, we use gifs and typerventalating (asdfghjkl;lkjhgj) to express emotion. Here are some prime examples of their usage
For that moment when you do something stupid and absolutely do not care
When you see someone or something amazing and your brain see's the face of God
Schemey schemey
Canadian Car Chase
When you fee like a cat on a trampoline and that little girl won't stop jumping.
When you win and they're sore losers
When you feel FABULOUS
For a difference in opinion
An occurrence of Tom Hiddleston
When you just gotta dance
When someone makes a dumb comment and everyone looks at them like
When you accomplish an amazing burn
Typerventalating outloud.
Lucille Bluth. The face of snoot.
When you don't know what your feelings are doing
Witnessing an amazing burn
Anger.Absolute anger and rage.
When someone is kind
When you're sad
When your mind is blown
My favorite Youtube Video Ever
I discovered this video early last year when I was looking up some cool skateboarding tricks. It was and still is the coolest thing I've ever seen. It makes me want to re-learn how to skateboard every time I see it. But then I imagine myself in an ambulance with my elbow somehow going through my ear and I lose that urge quickly.
(It still makes me so mad that this only has 463 views.)

The Cabin in the Woods: Horror turned Hilarious
The Cabin in the Woods. Oh man. What can I say about this movie. The movie was written by Joss Whedon and directed by Drew Goddard. It's about five young adults going off to camp at one of their cousins cabin. They think they're in for a fun filled night of drinking and fornication, but instead spend the last night of their young lives battling it out with the dark forces of evil.
The movie stars Chris Hemsworth (i.e. Bald Thor), Anna Hutchinson, Kristin Connolly and Jesse Williams. They play the roles of the unwary young adults walking right to their doom. They consist of the usual group of kids. The jock, the braniac, the cheerleader, the virginal friend of the cheerleader, and the burnout.
They decide to play truth or dare and right in the middle of the game a gust of wind blows the basement door open. They, of course, get the BA-RILLIANT idea to make Dana (The "virginal one") hide down there for a few minutes. She sees something scary and starts to scream, convincing the others to come down to help her. They end up goofing around and fiddling with stuff in the basement. Little do they know that each item in the basement summons a supernatural being that will come and kill them. It's all part of some grand scheme to keep the world from ending, put on by a secret corporation.
The special effects were spot on. From the zombies, sugar plum fairy, and the unicorn, to all the other monsters there, they all looked sickeningly real except for one. (The mermaid. It was...oh god. So terrible.)
The lighting was dark for most of the movie, except for the scenes in the surveillance room where employees of the company watched the goings on of their little scheme. During one scene called "The Purge", the lighting goes dark again and fast paced manic music sets in, giving one the feeling that the crap has just hit the fan.
By way of acting and 87% of the CG this movie was hilarious. The acting was terrible but it compensated for the gore. A little sweet for your bitter if you will. I loved this movie and woud reccomend it to anyone who loves a good scare and a laugh and doesn't mind seeing Unicorns stab a man through the stomach.
City of Ghosts Review
City of Ghosts is an action film by Matt Dillon and Barry Gifford. It's about a con man named Jimmy that escapes from the investigators that are closing in on him and his partners for an insurance scam that screwed over a LOT of people. He runs to Cambodia, where he thinks his partner is to tell him the plan's gone belly-up and find out what he's been up to for the time he's been incognito. The movie is full of plot twists and action, gunshots and testosterone as far as the eye can see.
Actors included some famous faces such as Matt Dillon himself, Gerard Derpardieu, Stellan SkarsgÄrd, and James Caan. The rest of the actors howerver were mostly Cambodian natives. The actor that played Sok, Kem Sereyvuth was a taxi driver that they met and cast as the cyclo driver that would help Jimmy out along his adventure. With no previous experience in acting, Kem did an amazing job.
The movie itself wasn't bad. It wasn't something I would go to see personally but I enjoyed it. The Kingdom of Cambodia was a beautiful place, but was shown as it isn't seen in brochures and vacation catalogs. It was shown as a gritty underbelly of scociety where poverty and crime ran amok. There were few good people like the barkeep at the Bellview and Sok. The there weren't many special effects other than mines blowing up.
The lighting and coloring of the movie was spot on. Slight yellow filters gave it the dirty and gritty feeling that the movie portrayed. The camera angles used gave it the fast paced feeling with a lot of freehand shooting and close ups to show emotion on the actors faces. The music of the movie contained mostly asian music, thai, and some instrumentals for chase scenes.
In my personal opinion, the movie was a little overdone. The plot line has been done before over and over but Matt Dillon did a great job trying to make it interesting and knew. I will probably never see this movie again but I would recommend it to anyone who loves action films and foreign locations.
